The American Society First Solar announced that it has reduced the final quarter of 2008, to 0.98 cents per watt production cost of its thin-film photovoltaic modules, thus breaking the barrier of one dollar per watt.
This threshold is the main objective of the international solar companies that aspire to achieve "grid parity", ie the same cost of electricity fotovioltaica with that produced by traditional fake and delivered by the network to the end user.
