The thing that strikes me most of modern times is not so much the smutandamento and the exaltation of the body female, which I consider more a consequence, since the blackout and the debasement of the male.
Until a few years ago we went to the beach all in briefs, but today's briefs have been replaced by ugly boxer male and female g-strings by the equally horrific.
I once played football shirts with members and mid-thigh shorts, t-shirts today with very large and wide and long trousers to the knee.
I think the male body is what society aseptic and spineless Western fears most: strength, force, pride and, perhaps, even a hint of arrogance.
Hence the continuous and simultaneous coprirsi degli uomini e scoprirsi delle donne. Da qui l'insistente sminuzione dell'importanza del copro maschile in vari campi, anche nel sesso. Ricerche e ricerchine che "dimostrerebbero" che le donne sono attratte dal reddito degli uomini, dal puzzo di sudore degli uomini, dalle "qualità morali" (questa è la più bella!) degli uomini, da tutto fuorché dalla fisicità maschile.
Da qui l'esaltazione del corpo femminile, a sua volta però svilito e deformato. Da qui la denigrazione degli uomini che osano andare fieri della propria fisicità e che sono etichettati come "narcisisti bambinoni", "complessati", "presuntuosi" se non addirittura "effeminati". Da qui la riduzione del maschio a a "club" whose only "beauty" would consist in being more or less large ... 
This does not exclude the fact that there may be different and even contrary impulses, but I think this is the prevailing trend.
